Ailsa Lyn

Ailsa is a Suffolk based artist working with water-based media and upcycled papers in collage. She is inspired by her local East Anglian landscape, with its multitude of architectural subjects and the changing features of the land from countryside to coast.  Watercolour is Ailsa’s medium of choice, preferred for its immediacy, spontaneity, and for the way that the colours come alive when the light shines through. She has developed her style to include experimentation with collage alongside watercolour, using her own hand-printed papers, allowing her to build textures and develop her observations and push her work in a more abstract direction. Notable achievements include exhibitions in London and East Anglia. She has also had work published in Artists and Illustrators Magazine and the SAA Paint magazine.
