Sue Cooper

Sue Cooper is an artist and art tutor based in Bognor, West Sussex. She has many artistic passions, focussed primarily on portraiture and plein-air sketching but is proficient in many subject areas including landscapes, seascapes, botanical images, animals and still lifes. She conducts regular and one-off art courses, masterclasses as well as demonstrations and workshops for Art Societies in the Hampshire and Sussex areas. She runs a successful #SketchbookItalia art retreat business in Italy, where she lived for 9 years until 2021. Sue also paints commissions, mainly of people and animals and sells her artwork via local cafés that show her work and the Emsworth Art Trail in Havant.

Sue uses and provides demonstrations in a variety of mediums on a regular basis including graphite, charcoal and pastels but has a special passion for watercolour. Sue can paint with a photographic likeness in watercolour but prefers to paint much more loosely with an expressive style, rarely spending more than a couple of hours on a painting or drawing.
