Soraya French

A versatile artist, Soraya works in Watercolours, Pastels, Acrylics, Oils and Mixed media. She has written 6 books on Acrylic and Mixed media painting, the medium she is best known for. She is an ambassador for Golden Artists colours and exhibits her work in mixed and solo exhibitions in the south of England, including at the Mall Galleries in London where she won the Daler-Rowney Choice award in 2004. As an elected member of the Society of Floral painters she regularly exhibits her work in Mottisfont Abbey and Sir Harold Hillier's Gardens at their annual exhibition. In addition, her work is in collections in the House of Commons, Highclere Castle, Edwin Young Museum in Salisbury and Tudor House Museum, Southampton. In July 2005 Soraya was awarded the Artist of The Year by Society for All Artists at the Artist & Illustrators show in London. She contributes articles to The Artist and Artists and Illustrators magazines and is a member of, and current acting president of the Society of Women Artists. As well as demonstrations and workshops, she also gives an illustrated talk on the History of Acrylics.
