About the Artist:
Melanie's main artistic influences come from working outdoors, indeed, most of her paintings are produced at least in part on location, even in winter, with light and colour playing a major role in her work. Favourite subjects tend to involve water. She particularly enjoys painting by the Thames in Central London and views from the banks of the River Wey in Surrey. Melanie has written several books published by HarperCollins and produced a DVD with APV Films.

Art Groups:
Melanie's lively demonstrations in both oils and acrylics offer plenty of inspiration and encouragement to "pick up your brushes and have a go". If you would like to invite her to give a demonstration, critique or workshop to your local art group, call ART PROFILE on 01234 764232.

Personally-Tailored Workshops:
Melanie is happy to come to your art group and create a bespoke workshop to suit the needs of your members. If you wish to try oils, then she can also supply paints, mediums and brushes so no-one need worry about extra upfront costs just to have a go at something new.

Sketching Cruises for Groups:
Fully tutored and supported Day Cruises along the beautiful River Wey in Surrey. Starting and finishing at Dapdune Wharf – the National Trust venue in the centre of Guildford. Available for art groups (or just arty friends from 8 to 10 people) midweek or weekends. “Angel Blue” is a large widebeam boat with central heating, toilets and full disabled access. The boat is run by a fully insured skipper from Surrey Outdoor Learning Centre so no need to do anything boaty, just enjoy the views with time to sketch and paint en-route and when we moor up over lunchtime.

Courses and Holidays:
Alongside her lively demonstrations to art groups, Melanie runs regular classes in both oils and gouache during the Spring and Autumn at Horsley in Surrey. Melanie returns to Marlborough College Summer School again this year from 22nd July to run three fully supported painting courses. Details of all Melanie’s courses and painting holidays can be found by visiting www.melaniecambridge.com

Oil, Gouache & Brushes:
Melanie has her own range of artist oil paints and this year also a new range of gouache colours, both are made in England using top quality pigments She also offers an alkyd painting medium to speed up the drying times and an odourless thinner as well as her own selection of brushes, all of which can be purchased from her website www.melaniecambridge.com.
