Janet says, "My flowers strike attitudes, dance, have arguments. I am more interested in their shapes, patterns and colours than in botanical representation. Although I start with a plant from the garden - my pen then takes off by itself, so although carefully observed, the finished drawings have lives of their own. I keep returning to the same flowers. With their leaves they become almost abstract."

Janet's paintings are now hanging in homes all over the world and various commissions include MRC/Hutchison Research in Cambridge, Sawston Village College Arts Centre and The Open University.

She holds watercolour painting days in her home and often tutors at art groups in the area.
