Jake Winkle studied at Bournemouth College of Art and Design before graduating from Brighton Polytechnic in 1987. After a spell in industry Jake became a full time professional artist in 1993.
He exhibits widely in the South of England and London and is a contributor to The Artist magazine. Inspired by colour and movement his paintings are impressions of the world around him. As well as exhibitions he has undertaken many fine art commissions for individuals and notable organisations including The National Trust.
In addition to painting Jake runs successful workshops and masterclasses around the country. During demonstrations Jake likes to explain fully what he is doing and why and within a two hour demonstration will usually complete an entire painting. His attitude is relaxed but focused and he welcomes the opportunity to explain his theory of watercolour painting and to answer questions from the audience.
