Griff is a professional Artist and Illustrator who has established a reputation in Watercolour, with many successful exhibitions throughout the country.

Griff was born in Ryhill, near Wakefield, Yorkshire, He had a natural ability in art and at the age of 13 won a scholarship to Wakefield school of Art. This was followed by 3yrs architectural work and study The desire to broaden his horizons prompted him to join the Royal Navy and for 7yrs travelled the world. After marrying and settling down he sought security in the insurance industry, the call of "Art" proved too strong and in 1975 after the sales of his personal style of Watercolours began to out-perform his sales of insurance he was able to return to the career of Artist he had begun 30yrs earlier.

A Popular tutor and Demonstrator/Lecturer, he runs his own Workshops and Courses in West Yorkshire. His work has been published as Fine Art Prints, Greetings Cards, Calendars, etc. He enjoys working to commissions which has taken him all over the U.K. and the U.S.A.

In addition to his popular Landscapes and Seascapes, Griff specialises in Private House Commissions and the preparation of perspective and impressions in the architectural field.

Griff is a founder member of the Yorkshire Watercolour Society
