After studying at Brighton Polytechnic (1981) and Kingston Polytechnic (1981to 84) Debbie became an Illustrator after gaining an agent at her degree show. And so the love of figurative artwork began. Debbie worked for all the major publishers and magazines and some advertising agencies during her 20 year career as an illustrator.

She embarked on her teaching career in 1994 primarily at Northbrook College, Worthing teaching drawing, fashion illustration and general art and design on a variety of courses  including the Fashion Degree Course.

Most recently  (since 2011) she has thoroughly enjoyed facilitating her own life drawing courses across a variety of venues in Brighton and Hove. This includes teaching clothed figure drawing sessions which incorporate a different theme each month, Brilliant fun!.

Debbie loves the connection with her learners and endeavours to nurture and support each student according to their individual needs.

Last year, very excitingly she taught Portraiture and Clothed figure work on a tiny island in Greece, Kalymnos, something she hopes to continue this year.

Based in Brighton Debbie is happy to travel to groups upto 1 hours driving distance from home.
