After leaving Stoke on Trent College of Art, Chris pursued a business career for over 30 years but attended local authority drawing and painting courses at Sir John Cass College and at a number of adult education institutes in his home town of Birmingham and the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Greenwich and Bexley. He has also attended residential courses including the Slade Summer School in London.

He is now devoting most of his time to painting and has a studio in Childers Street, Deptford (SE London). He has participated in the Open Studios for the last two years as well as being invited to show at the Diesel House Open Studios exhibition at Kew Bridge.

He has run workshops in drawing and painting in central London and holds Masterclasses at his studio in Deptford based.

Chris is a member of the Guild of Erotic Artists and also the United Society of Artists.

Chris is running a two-day course painting river and harbour scenes, based at the Wivenhoe Sailing Club on the River Colne, on 4th and 5th September 2007. The course is open to beginners and more experienced painters, in all media, and will cover boats (old and new), the busy harbour front and it's industry.

It is intended to work outside but, in case of inclement weather, can continue at an inside venue.
